HDAW Education Program to Feature Industry “Hot Topics”
The 2008 Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) education program will feature outstanding speakers addressing important issues for the independent heavy duty aftermarket. HDAW ’08 is slated for Monday, Jan. 21, through Thursday, Jan. 24, at The Mirage in Las Vegas. CVSN in Talks with HDAW Organizers
The Board of Directors of the Commercial Vehicle Solutions Network (CVSN) has agreed to discuss with the organizers of Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW), the development of a new meeting model for industry week. Representatives of CVSN will meet with HDAW organizers to discuss ways to co-ordinate efforts and unify the North American manufacturers and independent distributors.
HDAW 2008 Planning Begins with Election of Leadership Team
Jerry Weis, president of Ott’s Friction Supply Inc., has been elected to serve as the Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) 2008 chairman. Weis was elected at the HDAW Joint Operating Committee (JOC) meeting March 30 in Chicago. The JOC also re-elected Joe Mejaly, vice president and general manager, ArvinMeritor’s Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket Business, as HDAW 2008 vice chairman. The 2008 Education Committee will be co-chaired by Gene Damron, vice president and general manager, Page Group, and Don Reimondo, senior vice president, customer relationship management, Affinia Group Inc.

AAIA Approves Medium Duty Vehicle Data at HDAW
The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) has announced that medium duty vehicle data will be added to the Vehicle Configuration database (VCdb) and incorporated into the ACES electronic catalog standard. The vehicle additions will cover more than 1,300 base vehicles of 23 different makes for years 1980-2007. Subscribers to the ACES vehicle database will see the first of these additions in the January release with the remaining makes published shortly thereafter.
