Dayco has received the Best Plant Award from the PSA Group, the French manufacturer of automobiles sold and marketed under the Peugeot, Citroën and DS brands. The award, presented during PSA’s 11th annual Best Supplier Awards, recognizes the Dayco belt manufacturing plant in Chieti, Italy, for its performance in manufacturing excellence according to the PSA Group’s quality standards.
“Dayco is honored to receive the Best Plant Award from the PSA Group for the second consecutive year,” said John Bohenick, CEO for Dayco. “With our core values – responsiveness, ingenuity, integrity, foresight and collaboration – in mind, our associates at the Chieti plant produce the products, systems and services that are instrumental in generating increased value for PSA and its customers.”
The Dayco belt manufacturing plant in Chieti produces PV, or serpentine, belts used in multiple applications, engines and industries. For PSA, Dayco manufactures PV belts, as well as timing belts and timing belt-in-oil systems, for its main engine platforms. Since inventing the PV belt in the 1970s, Dayco has continued its legacy of market leadership by developing highly engineered belts for a multitude of accessory drive applications.
“To be named a Best Plant and be placed in the top 5 percent of PSA’s panel of suppliers is an achievement all Dayco associates worldwide should be proud of,” said Paul DiLisio, senior vice president, global automotive and industrial OE sales for Dayco. “This award reiterates our drive to innovate along with our urge to serve our customers and is a fitting tribute to the employees who continue to make the Chieti plant an award-winning facility.”
