Littelfuse Purchases Majority Ownership in German Circuit Protection Business
Illinois-based Littelfuse, Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire an 82 percent majority stake in Heinrich Industrie AG, which makes circuit protection products. Littelfuse has agreed to buy the majority stake for approximately $47.2 million in cash. The transaction was expected to close this week.
Keith Kreft Awarded ETI Founder’s Award
Keith Kreft of Cupertino, Calif., was presented the Equipment and Tool Institute (ETI) Founder’s Award at the association’s recent board meeting. The Founder’s Award honors individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and support of the Institute. It is ETI’s highest honor. Kreft is the 14th recipient of the award since it was established in 1985.

Delphi Corp. has named David Knill the new finance director for Delphi Steering, headquartered in Saginaw, Mich. In this new assignment, Knill joins the division’s executive staff and reports to Robert Remenar, Delphi vice president and president of Delphi Steering.Knill succeeds Doug Gruber, who was recently named business line executive for electrical/electronic distribution systems at Delphi Packard.

U.S. Industrial Output Falls 0.2 Percent in March
American industrial production fell 0.2 percent in March, the U.S. Federal Reserve said Friday but was was 3.4 percent higher than in March 2003.In March manufacturing output was flat, while mining production dropped 0.3 percent, and utility output decreased 2.3 percent due to unseasonably warm weather, the Fed said.

Richard Keister Leaves Delco Remy to Join Keystone Automotive
Richard Keister, president of Delco Remy International’s (DRI) Aftermarket Group, has announced he will resign on May 31 to join Keystone Automotive Industries, a supplier to the collision repair industry, as CEO. Keister will replace Charles Hogarty, who plans to retire on August 31. Hogarty will remain with the company as a consultant for a two-year period.
