New Era In AASA Overseas Automotive Council Leadership

Intraco's Carol Perrotta named first woman chairperson.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Carol Perrotta, manager of operations, Intraco Corp., is the 2013 chairperson of the Overseas Automotive Council (OAC) of the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), the first woman to hold the council’s highest office since it was founded in 1923.
 
OAC members approved the slate of officers at the group’s meeting on Nov. 30 in New York. All terms begin in January 2013.
 
Perrotta and her fellow OAC officers will serve two-year terms. Other officers are:
 
·      Vice Chairperson: Mick Jordan, vice president, marketing, Cloyes Gear Products
·      Second Vice Chairperson: Tim Vehlewald, president and CEO, ACL Distribution Inc.
 
Also at the Nov. 30 meeting, the following OAC members joined the board as new directors, with terms expiring in December 2015:
 
·      Sharmila Kakac, international sales and marketing manager, Airtex Products (a FRAM/UCI Co.)
·      Dil Kulathum, vice president, international, CARDONE Industries
·      Jeff Guenther, vice president, international sales, Hastings Manufacturing Co.
 
The following OAC directors have renewed their positions on the board for terms expiring in December 2015:
 
·      Carlos Baez, vice president, sales and marketing, TVA Automotive Inc.
·      Federico Quintero, vice president, Quinteros S.A.
·      Juan Manuel (Jack) Garcia, director, J.M. Garcia / MERCAP S.A.
·      Mark Marutiak, director, international sales, FRAM Group
·      Ed Szubielski, vice president, global commercial markets, Federal-Mogul Corp.
