MOKENA, Ill. A panel of industry experts will discuss how distributors and service operators can capitalize on recent developments within the energy industry, as part of the education program taking place during Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) 2014. HDAW’14 will be held Jan. 27-30, 2014, at the Mirage in Las Vegas.
The session, titled "How to Profit From the Energy Boom," will feature a panel discussion with Dr. John Felmy of the American Petroleum Institute; Randy Arlt, VP of sales, Polar Corp.; Bill Ryan, CEO of Point Spring & Drive Shaft; and session moderator, Derek Kaufman, CEO of C3 Network Inc.
The focus of this panel will be to discuss the rapidly developing energy revolution in North America, centered on the revitalized oil and natural gas industries. The meteoric growth of this industry as well as a resurgence of industrial activity is proving to be a game-changer for the trucking industry and the shops and distributors that serve it, according to event organizers.
New energy oil and natural gas fields are developing throughout the country, with names like the Bakken, the Alberta oil patch, Barnett Shale, Haynesville/Bossier Shale, Antrim Shale, Fayetteville Shale, Marcellus Shale, New Albany Shale and many others. Newly re-deployed extraction methods such as hydraulic fracking and horizontal drilling have recently grown into a significant industry. Most of the industry growth has spawned an increased urgency for vehicle and equipment up-time. Operations that run 24/7 in virtually all affected areas are creating major opportunities for those supplying the parts and service needs of the contractors and oil/gas-field operations.
The panel discussion will address the new business opportunities resulting from the latest developments in the North American energy industry and how heavy-duty distributor and service operators can benefit from it. Panelists will share how some distributors are already experiencing new business resulting from the resurging oil and natural gas fields, in an effort to inform attendees of successful ways to follow this trend.
Additional topics of discussion will include:
* How it is affecting all areas of the economy and employment.
* The growth potential for distributors in the gas and oil reserve areas.
* The opportunities with all the additional vehicles and infrastructure involved.
* Steps distributors can take to leverage the opportunities the energy boom provides.
