Autopromotec 2017 To Provide A Window On The Future With ‘OFFICINA 4.0’

In Hall 30 at this year’s Autopromotec, a virtual journey turns the spotlight on the repairs of tomorrow.

Autopromotec 2017, the 27th international biennial exhibition of automotive equipment and aftermarket products held May 24-28 in Bologna, will put the spotlight on the workshop of the future though “OFFICINA (Workshop) 4.0: Proof of Concept.”

Hosted in Hall 30, the initiative consists of a virtual journey through the workshop of tomorrow, with visitors having the opportunity to see for themselves what the future holds for the world of repairs, including which technologies will be available and how the role of professionals will change. All through a “proof of concept,” the program is a representation of new methods for identifying faults and diagnosing problems, and the subsequent repair operations.

Organizers for Autopromotec say “OFFICINA 4.0: Proof of Concept” project, an exclusive preview, reflects the profound changes that are redefining the car and the way it interacts with the outside world, with new technologies that will require independent workshops to make a significant leap in their mindsets to remain competitive.

The use of electronics in vehicles is soaring, and the amount of information that can be provided by the diagnostic system is extensive and varied, opening up new scenarios and opportunities for the world of repairs. The increasingly connected vehicle will record and send its driving data in a continuous manner, as well as information on its operational status and the stresses to which its various components are subjected.

Thanks to an intelligent and thorough reading of its data, it will be possible to remotely track the “health status” of customers’ vehicles in real time, and, if necessary, advise the owner to service the vehicle in a preventative manner. This will lead to a more accurate relationship with the consumer, more timely service, a significant increase in quality and reduction of time spent doing repairs.

In the “Connected Workshop” all the main processes will be greatly affected and improved: product development, technology management and management of product life cycles.

All these topics will be covered in “OFFICINA 4.0:Proof of Concept,” where Autopromotec visitors will have the exclusive opportunity to learn more about the latest technologies, get a preview of the future of their businesses and therefore be well prepared to anticipate future customer needs in order to transform the challenges of today into a great business opportunity tomorrow.

Tours of OFFICINA 4.0:Proof of Concept last about 20 minutes and can be booked at the beginning of May through the exhibition website, autopromotec.com.
