NASHVILLE, TN — American Tire Distributors (ATD) hosted its first national TireStarz Dealer Conference March 4 – 7. Ninety-nine dealers and their guests attended the four-day session at the Opryland Resort in Nashville, Tenn.
The meeting featured a series of seminars and workshops designed to give ATD dealers timely information on important market trends and strategies for building their business. Mark Emkes, chairman, CEO and president of Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire, addressed the group, as did William “Bill” Berry, American Tire Distributors’ president and COO.
“We have the largest roster of TireStarz dealers in the U.S.,” said Ron Sinclair, American Tire Distributors’ vice president of marketing. “We felt it was important to bring the group together with American Tire Distributors and BFS management to share our growth plans for the future.”
Seminar topics included “The Power of Promotion,” “Advertising Made Easy,” “Capitalizing on High Performance” and “Financial Planning for Success.” Dealers toured the 57-acre Bridgestone/Firestone’s manufacturing facility in nearby LaVergne, Tenn. Al Unser, Jr. spoke at an awards ceremony and presented two trips to the Indianapolis 500 on behalf of American Tire Distributors and Bridgestone/Firestone. Conference attendees also visited the Grand Ole Opry for a surprise performance by Alison Krauss, Kenny Chesney and Uncle Kracker.
