Women at the Wheel: Tanya Hunt

Hunt is the commercial project manager at BBB Industries.

During the month of June, aftermarketNews will be presenting the esteemed 2024 Class of AMN’s Women at the Wheel. From trailblazers who have helped create departments and even entire companies, to those who ensure their office runs like a well-oiled machine, this year’s group of 26 is full of authentic leaders, each with a story to tell.

Mentorship and programming have united women throughout the aftermarket, serving as a springboard for them to enter the industry and grow their roles into successful careers. They are sparking change and driving results, together.

Today’s honoree is Tanya Hunt, commercial project manager, BBB Industries.

How your aftermarket career began: The aftermarket found me. In 2015, I was caught in the oil and gas mass layoffs. I decided to move home and utilize multiple recruiters. My resume was found from a job I applied for that had a mislabeled location. They called and asked if I’d be interested in a finance/software job in Mobile, Alabama.

Proudest career accomplishment: As the chair of our global Corporate Citizenship, I have been able to expand the program from headquarters in Daphne, Alabama, to all 25 of our locations around the world, thanks to the growth of our company and the support of our leadership. With the help of over 35 representatives, we organize and participate in global events like Reman Day, Earth Day and year-round community outreach, especially during the holiday season.

Best advice to other women in the aftermarket: Don’t Wait. Manage your own career. Know what your Ultimate Yes is and that will guide your small yes/no’s. Be mindful that for every yes there is a no (and vice versa).

In tomorrow’s edition of aftermarketNews, we’ll feature Autumn Lamb, marketing manager at GSP North America.
