Dayco Brings Linear Groove Belt Technology to the Aftermarket

Dayco has announced the addition of "Linear Groove Technology" (LGT) to the company's line of Poly Rib belts, which already includes the patented "W" profile and deep grooved belts. This new LGT belt is manufactured with small, specially designed grooves on the backside of the belt, increasing the backside friction to aggressively drive accessories with the back side of the belt.

LGT technology was developed during belt testing for a major automotive OEM. The drive generated very high fan and water pump loads under certain driving conditions under which a normal serpentine belt could not provide sufficient traction. Dayco’s latest belt solution was designed to solve the slip problem with the LGT design.

Dayco’s line of Poly Rib belts continues to expand designs specifically engineered for the drives on which they will be installed.
